3.23 First hour of experience - scroll down for info, or scroll past if you're not interested:
Testing focus for todays' 4 hour playtest, and my experience is as follows:
Stability (Main Focus) - Overall servers are stable. In 60 minutes there was one crash, but rep layer quickly kicked in and I was transferred to a new server within 1 minute (while waiting in one place for that to happen).
Full Character Customizer Revamp - New character customizer is cool. BEARS, finally! Overall you can spend an hour tweaking your character appearance now. There were minor bugs with this, but overal it worked on 95%.
EVA T2 - Did some EVA and overall it was cool. Control wise, there wasn't much of a change, but definitely EVA now feels much smoother than before.
New Loot Screen - Loot screen is very cool and will be most usefull when needing to quickly loot ammo. As for looting anything else, I guess time will tell. The windows for looting appeared a bit small to hold large items, but to each their own.
New Visor / Lens - This is barely noticeable at the moment. Maybe it's not fully integrated, or I'm just clueless, but didn't see much of a difference, other than different ammo count/weapon icons on the screen as well as a compass. ALSO, there is a FPS minimap in some locations in this build, although not testing focus.
Backpack reloading - This is a real game changer in my mind. Reloading from backpack is slightly slower, but if behind cover, it's not an issue.
Ammo repooling - Didn't really understand this, I'm being honest
Dynamic Crosshair - Crosshair is cool. Overall FPS handling feels a bit more responsive (not really connected to Crosshair though). Crosshair moves with you as shown on the SQ42 demo during CitCon, but is still quite buggy.
Physical Shopping UI - I mean it's nice addition, but this is very clunky right now. If you want to buy something via the Physical shopping UI, you need to hold a button for 3 seconds, which makes things feel sluggish and slow.
Server Crash Recovery - As mentioned above, works as intended. Server switched within 1 minute of crash, quite seamless. Looking forward to when this takes a second.
In summary, there are quite a few bugs that make the "playing" on this build sloppy, however as far as the first ever feature build goes, it's super stable, not that many bugs and overall AMAZING when compared to usual first EVO patches.
Definitely not impossible to iron things out within ~3 weeks so people get it in live.
